New Mexico has thousands of square miles of that public land...yes this means you have the right to use this land. There are three different types of public land. They are Forest Lands, BLM, and State Lands. Each type of public land allows you certain access and right to use. Obtaining the proper maps for each area you tend to visit makes all the difference. It is important to know where you are at all times. Rest assured if you happen to venture on to private land the land owner will be the first to let you know.
